I'm not going to try and kid on any longer. Yeah, it was great to head over to Oz, and great to go to such a fantastic event with so many famous professional sports people, but there was really only one guy we were there to see. Figuring that he (er, Andy Murray) would sail through the first round we didn't bother buying expensive tickets for his match at the Rod Laver. We were even more pleased when the draw came out for the Wednesday and he was playing on Margaret Court Arena (the outside show court) which meant we only needed the ground passes to get in which we already had via Katie and Tennis NZ. Score!
It was great to finally see him on court, and even better seeing all the saltires in the crowd. Here's some shots from the R2 match against Marc Gicquel from France. And these are from the Round 3 match against Florent Serra, also from France.
As I write this, I'm watching the pre match interviews for the final tomorrow (Sunday). After watching the matches in R2 and R3 we all thought it would be a Murray v Federer final and we were right. Hopefully, we'll be celebrating yet another win.
