Iain's injury sustained whilst playing football here, turned out to be the final nail in the coffin for the cartilage in his knee. After hobbling around for three weeks and having to keep it iced and elevated every night, he managed to get a quick repair job done down at Souther Cross hospital. Our friend Karen works at Southern Cross and she did a super job of giving Iain a beautiful pink bandage while he was still unconscious. Top work, Nurse Laidlaw!
He got home that afternoon and decided it was wise to head back to work the following day ("there was an important pre-season match to watch"). He's now pretty much fully recovered and even managed to do the stadium stairs training session this week. No reason not to clean the bathroom then, eh?
