France Wk 1: 11-17 June; Comfort Suites & Citroens

Upon arriving in France, we checked into the same Apart-Hotel that we had been staying at previously: the misleadingly named, Comfort Suites. By the end of our stint, we were referring to it as the Discomfort Suites. You'd be okay here for a few nights but after five and a half weeks, our wee one bedroom apartment felt tiny and we were desperate to get out! Here's some shots of it during our time there. Panoramic of the room really lets you see how much space we had!

During our first week, we very quickly got to see how changeable the weather can be in this region. We went from the high 30s to William back sleeping in full jammies and his Big Bag. "Bag" has really caught on in his vocabulary and it seems to have coincided with him developing a particular fondness for this GroBag. He's so cute when he cuddles it!
Idron (the neighbourhood we were staying in), as I was shown during my last visit, has a children's playpark. This is noteworthy in France as most public spaces do not have play areas. I know, mental!
So, Idron playpark quickly became the place to hang out as it was so close to our hotel. That's the hotel who's air-conditioning could not cope with the mental weather and packed in. For the next five weeks, we sweated, in a box, every day and night. Whilst the hoons went past on their trail bikes and mopeds at every hour of the night! Brilliant!

On our first week in, we also decided to take the bull by the horns and buy a car. Iain hadn't received his club car yet and I needed to be able to get out and about, especially for house viewings. We were quite quick to buy one (a Citroen C3) but we soon found out how slow the French bureaucracy was...it would be another week before we could pick it up!
To be fair, they did give us a wee Peugeot 106 to run about in while we were waiting on our motor. And it let me get on with jobs, jobs, jobs!
One of the first things I did was get down the toy shop and buy William something. He's been super at finding things to play with while we've been on the road. I felt it was time for a real toy!
