It was absolutely fascinating watching these little things getting on with their regular life and we were mesmerised for hours. Having seen the film "Happy Feet" I am totally against enclosures like Kelly Tarlton's Underwater Adventure in Auckland but this allowed us to watch them in the wild and I've got to admit that it was so amazing, I cried. Awesome.
Sadly, we weren't allowed to take any photos of the wee fellas in action so you'll just need to visit for yourself one day!
And it wouldn't be a wildlife spotting road trip without these little fellas (press play!)

Going Walkabout
We managed to fit a wee road trip into our Melbourne adventure and we only had one real agenda: wildlife.
We headed south, firstly to Philip Island to attend the "World Famous" penguin parade. Normally with these kind of things you just end up totally disappointed but I must admit this was pretty special. We had to sit on the beach for about an hour and a half waiting for the sun to set and then gradually, when they thought it was safe enough (that birds of prey couldn't see them), hundreds of Little Penguins started to come on shore and make their way back to their nests.

Sounds great. Leave it to you to have a cry, though! LOL
