Jossy's Giants

Iain was keen to mix with the locals when we moved down to New Plymouth so he decided to dust off his shinnys and run out for one of the local fitba teams. I'll leave it to him to fill you in on the highs and lows of playing for a football team in New Zealand but from my perspective, the gist of it was:
1. Amazing playing fields
2. Every pitch had nets on the posts
3. The nets are left on the posts overnight, every night, and they don't get stolen
4. Kiwis aren't that good at football
5. But they take it really seriously
Here's some shots of the Big Show in action...
Not long after this last shot was taken some wannabe tackled him from behind and he limped off the pitch in a sorry state. Turns out he'd completely wrecked his cartilage and he couldn't play again this season. Oh well, maybe 2013 will bring more glory.

He'll get a trial for Rangers when he's home for the wedding.
