I bought a second hand step ladder this week from a wee woman who was selling up and moving back to the UK. This gave me the chance to throw Iain over the back wall and get him to attack the brambles and ivy that are proving somewhat troublesome! Big Carl also came round this week with his chainsaw to chop up the tree trunk that Iain had dug up. Amazingly, it was too hard for the chainsaw to get through. God knows how Iain managed it with his bread knife! William was a bit scared of the chainsaw so he just watched from inside.
All this work is creating a garden that we are really starting to enjoy. I also, finally, binned the tatty, rusty candle holders and bought new ones. Cue an evening in front of the fire with some tunes on, candles on, and lots of tasty red wine. Happy holidays people!
