Hooray! Summer finally feels like it's arrived and this week, and with Iain now winding down at work (not officially finished yet) we hit the road to the coast and checked out Hossegor. Something that we both definitely miss about NZ is the beach life that we always had there. Our houses were either walking distance to the beach, or a 10 min drive at most. Hossegor is over an hour away. But it was great. We took advice and headed to the lake and spent most of the day there, eating a really cool little cafe right on the beach. William had a wonderful time, digging in the sand and paddling in the water (even if it was pretty cold). We rounded off the day with a drive round to the proper coast and we were glad we had decided to spend the day at the lake as the open water was a steep beach with dumping waves and what seemed to be a really quick tide. Just a great feeling to be back at the ocean though. Summer's here.
