Today, I went out to the coast with Nat, Lee and Julie for Nat's birthday. It was an absolutely beautiful day and we all enjoyed a much needed spa day in honour of our mate. First up was lunch at Le Surfing, Nat's favourite Biarritz restaurant. What an amazing little place, right on the beach with great food and a chilled out atmosphere. Cue the champagne!
After lunch we drove down to St Jean de Luz where we spent the rest of the afternoon at the Grand Hotel Thelasso Spa. Absolute luxury, swanning around with our towels on and enjoying a swim, sauna and massage.
I have to admit though, that as much as I enjoyed my day with the girls, I couldn't shift this niggling guilty feeling that this was William's last day before starting school and here I was, deserting him already. We got caught in such heavy traffic on the way home that I didn't even make it home in time for dinner, or baths, or snuggles. I even had a wee cry to myself as I felt so bad. Deep breaths, mum. Deep breaths.
