The McAvoy Boys

Two weeks ago, Alan and I had been messaging back and forth talking about a last minute holiday for him and Euan. The weather in Scotland was going to be typically rubbish so Alan started looking at different flight options to come and see us where it was going to be significantly warmer! There was a multitude or different options, all with their wee annoyances such as layovers or big drives, and he finally settled on driving down to Birmingham and getting a quick direct flight to Biarritz where I could easily pick them up.

They didn't get in until after tea time on Saturday so it was Sunday before we were able to really relax and catch up properly. It was definitely time to get the pool cover off!
After a whole day in the pool, Euan wasn't very well on the Sunday night and he spent pretty much all of Monday in his bed. Poor guy. He'll be resenting his trips to France! I still needed to entertain William so we went a bike ride to the parks that have been built down the sides of the fancy new bus paths and after lunch, we broke out a cookie mix that Autumn had sent me and made them. They were absolutely delicious.
The rest of their time here was spent in a bit of a blur around trying to keep to my HIIT sessions, eating healthily and cooking for everyone, keeping cool by the pool and having a few glasses of wine most nights. Despite Euan not being well for a couple of days, I think Alan was glad that they came over and got some sunshine! Before we knew it, it was Thursday and I was taking them back to the airport. Their flight was around lunchtime so after I dropped them off, I took William for a dander round the shops at Ikea. Always good to have a wee look. I even got myself a new dress in the G-Star sale!
We've not been up to too much since they left; I've been going hard with the HIIT sessions, Fish has been round for dinner, we've been playing in the pool lots, I made a great prawn saag, and we watched a lot of sport at the weekend, with NZ playing England in the cricket and it going down to wire, plus the Wimbledon final.

But the major thing that did happen this week is that I went in to see Dr Dellis today and he's put me on the pill to regulate all my hormones and hopefully get me on track for starting all my meds and injections next month. He wants to put me on pre-stimulation meds too so will need to start injections for a couple of weeks before I even begin the stimulation drugs but it all means that everything is very controlled so I have more idea of the dates that we will be working around. I'm home with a whole load of paperwork and scripts for all sorts of drugs. Its exciting but obviously all a bit nerve wracking! I feel the pressure to get this right. Watch this space.

Lorna :-)
