Ducks in a Row & Spinning Plates

As the title suggests, its been a very busy time since the Woodsies made their au revoirs and headed back to Scotland.

I've been doing my best at cracking on with Joe Wicks but still frustrated with my lack of any weight loss. I reckon it's something to do with my thyroxine meds so need to get them checked. In other health news, I've also had to jack up a new district nurse to administer the forthcoming round of pre-stimulation injections for the next IVF round. These things are always a hassle, but I've got someone sorted so I'm pleased. The house is like a pharmacy.

William and I went to Ikea to get some new things for the house. He needed a bookcase for his room, we needed some storage boxes for our wardrobe space, I also got him a new table and stool, and we picked up the usual bits and bobs as well as having lunch in the cafe. I've also done some research into a new couch but that needs to be a joint decision. We will see.

On Saturday morning we went to the Halfway House to do the final key handover with Hugues. He and his mate had gotten on the lash the night before and he was in all sorts. Clearly, he couldn't be bothered with anything to do with this so it was a very swift affair. In the late afternoon we were all round at the Smith-Snowdon's for Luca's birthday. Lee and Conrad had really gone to town for me, making sure I had all the GF things I needed, and they introduced me to some brilliant new bread that Lee had found in Auchan. I had to scoot away for a short time though as my new nurse, Fiona, was coming round to our place for my first jabs. She was really lovely and it was all rather straightforward so hopefully this next part will pass easily.
Skis were a parting gift from Hughes

On Sunday we went for a family bike ride in the Chateau Parc before returning home for some great lunch. There's actually been quite a bit of experimentation in the kitchen lately: I tried duck spring rolls last week, and I'm back into my sweetcorn fritter stacks again. Yum.
