William's 4th Birthday Celebrations

William's birthday fell on a Monday this year, and with already being invited to something on the Sunday, and Iain's match being on the Saturday, we decided to have a wee thing for him at the house on the Friday. I've managed to resist the Birthday Party thing until now but for his 3rd birthday, he asked if his friends were coming round and I felt awful so we really had to pull our finger out this year!

I was reluctant to go full Kid's Birthday Party so, given that we'd also just moved house (again), it gave us a great chance to have a bit of a social gathering at the new place as a sort of housewarming and thank you to everyone that had helped us out with the moves, plus celebrate William's birthday. A win / win!

We'd invited people round from 4.30pm onwards and I'd had the pork in the oven from early morning. William even helped me make the chilli. I iced the cake that I'd baked, we got the garden decorated, and before we knew if people were arriving. It was a lovely way to breathe life into our new home as well as celebrating our little boy turning 4. He absolutely loved having everyone here - he's just the best.

The celebrations continued throughout the weekend where there was lots of playing with new toys; a home match at the Stade du Hameau against Brive; a trip into the mountains on the Sunday to celebrate the birthday of William's friend, Gideon; all the opening of presents sent by family on his actual birthday on Monday; and out for dinner that night at L'Aragon (at William's request!).

I came down stairs to find William had set up a water bowl for Slinky

Very pleased with his new bell and bike stand

What a few days! Phew!
