Le Tour de France 2020

Three months later than usual, the annual TDF circus rolled into town. The organisers were obviously trying to get this staged no matter what, but the omnipresent threat of coronavirus definitely kept the typical large scale crowds away (not to mention that it was in September, and not the height of the summer holidays). This year, Pau was a stage start and everything was set up down at the train station for the riders heading off and into the mountains. Added to the Covid situation, this was all going on on a Sunday morning so, seemingly, sleepy old Pau just couldn't be that bothered with all the razzmatazz! I nipped into Monoprix for some essentials then we headed down for a wander. We bumped into a few mates: JN and Giddy; and Lisa, Antony, and their tribe, but it was generally pretty quiet. There was the usual giveaway stands and before we knew it, the riders were heading off...

Announcing the teams...
Waiting for the riders to come past...
Cheers boys! Go well! ;-)
Another year, another Tour done.
