We arrived home and were faced with mountains of washing. It was a combination of our trip and the hangover from the Oman Browns staying. And it was made more complicated by the poor weather and ongoing building works meaning I couldn't get things dried. Aaaargh.
William was desperate to catch up with some friends so I arranged to see Jess on the Thursday. After a massive road trip for them too, they were also in need of a big play so it worked out well. Although they didn't really play together that much - the boys just kept coming to the table and asking us to play with them. Not really the point of a playdate, is it?!
With the weather continuing to put a spanner in the works for everything, Iain and William ended up going to see Sonic 2 at the cinema on Saturday morning. William was waiting for it to come on the box for weeks so rather than waiting any longer, he decided that he'd happily watch it in french. He's only been to the cinema once before so it's a big deal for him. Iain said he was mesmerised!
While the boys were at the cinema, I ran errands in Lescar. Namely trying to get William new slippers for going on his impending school trip. Trying to buy slippers in May is a difficult task.
On Sunday morning, we did a proper run around the chateau park. It's been months since I've ran like that and boy did I feel it. At one point, I was actually in tears. Brutal. To reward me for my efforts, Iain did me a full fry up. God bless the french and their gluten free black pudding. The rest of the day was spent pottering around the house, getting William prepped for going back to school, and trying to look out toys to sell or give away. William was "helping" but ended up putting toys back in his room that had previously been put in the "out" pile so I'm not sure how much further ahead I am?!
Right, school's back and it's time to get us all back into a proper routine again. I'm actually missing the gym!
Lorna.
