BOMAs & Blazers

After eleven long weeks, the end of term was finally here and it was time to do the usual: head out with the Blazing Squad for copious snakebites at the Irish boozer in Takapuna. This Friday was slightly different though as the BOMAs from Mussey were here to join the party. (All the bams from Musselburgh Grammar refer to their friends as their BOMAs; Best of Mates, Always, and Suzy, Laura and I now use it in appreciation).
Anyway, it was a great night: getting the ladies together and sharing stories. Sadly many of my NZ mates had absolutely no idea what Suzy was on about once she had a few voddies down her throat and she got into full flow with her posh(?!) Port Seaton accent. Mind you, this was probably a good thing as I overheard her at one point trying to explain about verruca socks for 'the manky bairns at the Baths'. 'Nuff said.
As the drinks flowed, so did the usual photo behaviour: pie face and shakey face. Here's Su-Bo, Fat Cher, Fat Cindy and David Dickinson...
And some of the attempts at shakey face...can you spot the advanced players and the novices?...
Laura then upped the tempo with the introduction of a photo game which she clearly thought was innocent and common; "Right Lorna, horse lips". Cue my pint coming out of my nose and the birth of the Horse Lips Tour 2011.
Laura and Iona showcasing "Horse Lips" - I'm still crying with laughter at Laura's chat
It's not a proper night out with the Blazers unless we're getting Wired For Sound. Please note we don't discriminate: we like small people and we like tall people. This track has become the unofficial Blazer's theme tune and we love re-enacting the classic video...
If you don't know what I'm on about, you need check this out. So that was it. BOMAs & Blazers - A Collision of my Worlds. And a beast of a hangover to prove it. Laters. LM. :)

I can't believe I've known this song all my life (we had a Cliff tape in the car for all those long car journeys on holiday) yet NEVER SEEN THE VIDEO. The man is a true genius. ;)

Wilcock! Can't believe that
1. You're still a regular reader of The Blog - thanks for your loyalty over the years!
2. You've only just realised the true genius of Cliff. This video actually won the award for the Worst Video of All Time as voted for by VH1 watchers. I don't know why. Cliff rolling around Milton Keynes shopping centre in a leather suit. Can't get much better than that.

:o) Loving my blog catch up this morning - and loving the fact you are still ignoring that it's speakers he loves and not people.

Just looked in the Argos catalogue (the new one) and you can actually still buy a Cassette walkman - unbelievably piced at £32.99.

McAvoy I read it religiously! I always feel slightly creepy that I don't comment (it's a bit voyeuristic) but I do read it. And you make me jealous with your travels ALL the time x
