Week 11: William's 2nd Birthday

Yes! Two already! It's so tempting to go nuts and spoil them but we held ourselves back. It was cool to do some decorating of the house the night before and then see William's bewilderment when he came down the stairs.

From us, William received his first box of Lego, and a toy lawnmower for the garden. He also got some cool books from our friends in Scotland, Katie and Steph. In the morning, we headed into town and caught up with some friends. We went for a birl on the merry-go-round in Place Clemencau, and bought William his annual birthday balloon! (Fortunately, there was a massive festival on in town, so lots of stalls etc up and running).
In the afternoon, it was back home for afternoon naps, while I got stuck in, in the kitchen making William's cake. GF of course ;-)

One of the joys of living abroad is that you often receive cards and gifts late, thus drawing out your birthday, or Christmas, for days and days! Here's some more shots of the boy getting excited over some other cards and presents!

Thanks to everyone who sent cards and gifts. He's a lucky boy!
LM :-)
