This week, I took my first big steps into the gardening world. I am a complete novice but I'm full of enthusiasm which I'm certainly going to need if we want to get our outdoor space looking like anything more than an overgrown jungle. I'm really conscious that the garden is full of shrubs and trees, but lacks any colour so I decided to pull out all of the overgrown vines running down the side of the driveway. It's my intention to replant this area with spring bulbs like daffodils or tulips. It was hard graft getting the stuff out and my hands were loupin', but I know that I need to see this as an ongoing project rather than something that I can finish and tick off a list. After just a deck space in Taranaki, it's exciting to think what we might achieve with our outdoor space here. I'm also thankful that I've got a very determined little helper!
Will keep you posted on the progress. Perhaps this will morph into a gardening blog!Just to prove that I'm not completely boring these days, here is a rare photo of me on a night out! This was to farewell Stephanie who, up until now, has been organising the playgroup that we go to on a Thursday morning. Her departure has required another mum to step into the breech. And you've guessed it, that mum is me! I figured that I'm not exactly taxing my brain elsewhere and its a good way to get to know people. And I just can help myself when it comes to organising others! Chin, chin!
LM. :)
