Iain and I were saying last that we really should make more of an effort to get William out practicing on his bike. Monday was cold, but dry, so I took him to Irdon park where they've built a great kid's bike/scooter track. He's getting there but he's not quite balancing just yet. It's all about time on the bike though and building confidence.
Due to the increasing mullet going on with William's hair, we had to take the plunge and get him his first cut. Fortunately, one of the rugby girl's brother who is a barber (at the very hipster-y Jetcharm in New Plymouth) was in town so we took the opportunity to get William sorted out in a very relaxed environment. William was brilliant. Probably because he was able to watch Peppa Pig throughout. Anyway, Lachlan got stuck in and suddenly, any of the baby/toddler still in William had gone and he was a now a wee boy. Awwwwww.
This week also saw a first for me: my first proper volleyball match in about 10 years. It is just all a bit different here. We met at 8.30pm and after a very relaxed warm up, the first ball was served at about 9.30pm! We lost 3-0 but it was great to be back playing again. The home team also provided lots of booze and food for the post match socialising. The French have the right idea!
On Friday I took William into town to enjoy the beautiful sunshine (and practice more cycling), and we found that the council are already started to prep Place Clemenceau for the Christmas market. Eeeeeek!
On Sunday, we had some mates round for dinner so I decided to bust out an old favourite: a roast leg of lamb. Yummmmmm.
LM :)
