It's been a tricky endeavour, trying to get Jinty on a plane to come and visit. Pau isn't exactly the simplest of places to get to from Glasgow but we finally agreed on a suitable route (fly from Glasgow - Bordeaux direct with EasyJet and I'd drive up and collect her) so she came over in the second week in August. It was a great time to visit as the weather was still wonderful, and with Iain fully back at work, William and I were just pottering around each day. Jinty joined us on trips to the swimming pool, jaunts into town, and the weekly "birdie shop" trip as well as just enjoying time in the garden blethering away and, or course, enjoying a glass or two of red wine.
Some photos of the trip include: my drive up to Bordeaux. Glorious, warm evening with an incredible sunset of which this photo does no justice. Jinty eating pastries at Brioche Dorée. Loved it.
The inevitable trip to Lourdes. Although Jinty was glad to have gone, she surprised me with her take on the whole place saying it's a bit odd, and it also seems to be making money out of the infirm. Exactly how we've felt about the place. I have chosen not to post photos of William from this trip. The only one I had of him was him trying to use a travel potty in the boot of the car. I'm like a cat on a hot tin roof trying to navigate this potty training business. Total full alert mode. Aaaaargh.
Fun and games in the garden. We managed to get Jinty in the paddling pool! And if you look closely, you can see her photo-bombing my shot of the new cider that Iain get his hands on this week. A proper cider too. We will have many more of these, I'm sure.
Hopefully now that she's been over, it won't be another full year until she returns.
LM :)
