It's Getting Hot In Here...So Tidy Up The Garden

This week has seen the temperature soar. 34, 35, 36, 37...and counting. Pure roasting! We decided to buy William a paddling pool a couple of weeks ago and the timing couldn't have been better.
With such wonderful weather, we've just been spending our days pottering around the garden, playing and tidying up, and of course finally getting down to some serious potty training.
William and I have been out watering plants early in the morning as it's so dry that things are wilting by the late afternoon! He's such a wee green fingers. I even talked Iain into buying a hose a few weeks ago as I knew our gardening was really going to take hold this summer. How right I was. There's colour everywhere now and its a place we can really enjoy.
I have been on about getting a power washer for ages but we're so tight that we just won't part with the money. Instead, Iain borrowed one from work and got down to cleaning pretty much every outside surface we have.
There's been a couple of "situations" this week. The first one being William getting covered in skelfs after playing on the deck, barefoot, at Simon and Clare's place on Sunday. They were everywhere: both feet and hands, and he even had some on his tummy. He was so patient, lying on the couch and letting me take them out. Any reason to watch some tv! The brutality of potty training continues this week. Even when he makes it to the potty, it can still end up everywhere. The countdown to starting school seems to be speeding up and I don't feel like we're making any progress. This is one of the hardest things I had to do with William.
This week, I finally got around to completing the drawers up the stairs in the sleep out. Leroy Merlin only sell the handles in packs of four so I contacted the makers to see if they could sell me a single unit. And they bloomin' well did! Et voila!
