Spurred on by our roadie to St-Jean-de-Luz just a few weeks ago, we decided to head to the coast again yesterday. With the spring well and truly sprung, and the weather getting considerably warmer, we knew that the big tourist beaches at St-Jean and Biarritz were likely to be mobbed so we did a little google map searching and hit upon some other alcoves along the coast between the big hotspots. We agreed on Lafitenia and hit the road. It was about 1h20mins away and when we arrived, we found parking no bother and headed down the rather steep hill to the water. It worked out perfectly. We'd taken the chilly bin with a load of supplies and spent the entire day chilling out and enjoying the peace and quiet. There was even a food truck just next to the car park so we were able to have late afternoon ice-creams and glasses of rosé. Score!
You know its been a good day when wee boys are sleeping in the car in the way home!
