After the madness of Christmas at the Smith-Snowden's place, we found ourselves in those In-Between Days. Apés Christmas, but avant New Year, lots of booze and rich food in the house, lots of new toys to keep us occupied, lots of fires and tv, and lots of relaxing and not quite knowing what day it is. Brilliant.
The utter joy of a Fortnum and Mason fruit cake!
On Saturday night we decided to get a curry. Curries here aren't the best, but we just work with what we have. It actually worked out brilliantly though as it was a beautiful night: cold but clear, so we sat outside the bar opposite Visnu, having a GnT and letting Willima play on his new scooter while we waited on the food. A great Saturday evening.
On Sunday it was off to the Stade du Hameau for what felt like the first time in ages to see Section Bordeaux. Unfortunately, it finished in a 23-27 loss.
And then it was Hogmanay. Iain was working on the 1st so it was a very quiet night for us. Or, at least, that's what we had planned. But our neighbours through the wall of our bedroom had an absolutely epic party, going on until about 6am with music so loud you could hear every syllable of every song. Iain had to pull the pin and sleep downstairs to try and get some kip but it was pointless. Aaaaagh, to be young and our partying until the following day. ;-)
So here's to 2019. In many ways, its been tough year so it's time to draw a line in the sand and move on with our lives.
Lorna :-)
