After getting virtually no sleep on Hogmanay due the epic party going on next door, we felt the best way to deal with the exhaustion was to go back to back with a party of our own. To be fair, it started as a very civilised dinner with Jonesy and Sophie where they broke out the raclette machine for some cheesy french wintertime cuisine but it quickly descended into a full blown record session which Iain and carried on way into the wee small hours long after they'd left. Needless to say, the both of us were in all sorts on the 2nd. I managed to clean the house and make chicken stock because I was so scared to stop moving. But once I did, my hangover hit me like an absolute sledgehammer. When will I ever learn?!

Welsh Raclette & Mountain Adventures
After such a shambolic showing on the 2nd, I tried to balance everything out with lots of good, homemade food including chicken noodle soup and steak pie. Yaaaas.
Now that William is getting older, we're really keen to get away for a few days skiing / boarding this winter as he'll actually be able to have some lessons. We've been doing a wee bit of research into possible destinations already and this week I bought William some ski gear. We decided that on Sunday we would head up to the mountains with a sledge and find some of the white stuff for his first taste of snowsports. It was a beautiful day and we took a picnic, and everyone had a really great time. We're amped for the winter holidays now!
For now, it's back to school and getting into a (semi!) routine!
LM. :)
