Routines & Regimes

Holidays are over and it's back to the grind. This is a good thing. I've restarted my French lessons with Sylvie and I'm back in the pool and have recruited Katie Smith to the swim team. She is an utter machine and is doing the fins sessions without fins, and going at the same speed as me. What a motivation to have her around. Amazing. It's also just lovely to be back in the water again after such a long hiatus. We're so lucky here in Pau to have this amazing facility. Knocked out a 28.21 on Wednesday for the time trial. Not amazing but still stoked to go under 30mins! Let's see how I fare after a few weeks training with Katie!

William has also returned to gymnastics and continues to enjoy it. I'm not sure how much he's actually getting from it but he's having fun. The "grève" continues to run most weeks and affects William's schooling here and there, and our ability to get in and out our street depending on the marchers' route. Hayley and I got caught up in the protestors this week and it was mental.

As we get back into routines, it was also good to get William to the hairdressers for a much needed chop. He looks so grown up with it. Later on yesterday, we headed down to Hédas for an afternoon play. All was going well until William tripped over and smashed his head on the ground. Thankfully one of the school mums was there and she is a nurse so was able to clean him up and put butterfly stitches on him. What a boy.

Lorna. ;-)
