French Reopening

All bars, cafes and restaurants have been closed in France since October. Non essential shops have been closed since Easter. We live right in the mixer and it’s been like a ghost town for the best part of seven months. If you look back at photos of us out on bike rides around town in previous posts, you'll see that the streets were utterly deserted most days. It's been a strange time all right.

But finally, today, France began to come back to life again. As I took William to school this morning, the tables and chairs were outside La Gourmandaise, ready to welcome their first customers. Upon seeing them, I felt like I could cry! The non-essential shops re-opened and I braved Intersport and Kiabi for some much needed new trainers and clothes for William. We're also on the lookout for a new bike as he's just growing so quickly. The three of us managed to have a celebratory drink on the Boulevard and Iain even got his first vaccination.

What. A. Day.

Lorna ;-)
