Iain and I have just spoiled ourselves with a much needed break in Rarotonga - the main island in the Cook Islands. It was amazing. Neither of us have experienced anywhere like it in our lives and it was exactly what we were looking for. Not much in the way of Lonely Plant-esque travelling, more like snorkelling, kayaking and reading books by day, and drinking cocktails and eating freshly caught seafood by night. We were staying at the Muri Beach Club Hotel, right on the lagoon and we got an upgrade giving us a beachfront room. Jammy or what? No real adventure chat, so I'll just let the (very smug) photos speak for themselves...

WOW! This looks amazing. Nothing like looking at a beach paradise on a Saturday morning in October in Scotland. As I always say McAvoy, fall in the canal, come out with a salmon! I'm glad your birthday was a good one. You're a lucky lady. Wish we could have been there with you for a few cheeky cocktails though! xx
Brilliant photos! Very jealous. Sounds like you have had a fantastic time. Belated happy birthday! Lots of love, The Woodsies xx
