If you've watched the Horse Lips Tour video from The Remarkables, then you'll know we were pretty spoilt with our first foray into snowsports in the South Island. There was a massive dump on snow while we were in Wanaka so we got ourselves up to the ski field at Cardrona, about an hour out of Wanaka. Although the powder was absolutely AMAZING - fresh snow up to your knees on most of the mountain - the visibility was pretty rank. On par with my last trip to Glenshee to be fair! We got stuck in about it though, and had a mental day on the snow: Suzy having a big drop and not warning Laura who wiped out and lost both her skis, me losing everyone and having to do backwards rolls down the hill to try and get out of crazy-deep powder, and Iona faceplanting into the powder so bad that some random had to drag her out from the waist! 
Oh and it was freezing, as you can see from the photos...
