After a lot of humming and hawing, some pretty outstanding flights came up on Easyjet from Glasgow - Bordeaux and Algy booked a last minute holiday for him and Euan. They arrived right in the middle of the World Cup finals (which France ended up winning) and also in the middle of a particularly hot spell. It was well up into the mid 30s most days. I drove up to Bordeaux to pick them up and we enjoyed time hanging about in the garden and the park, enjoying the cracking weather, and catching up on nonsense. As you would imagine, many a beer and glass of wine was also consumed. And I said goodbye to my strict training regime! Algy was so relaxed that he even missed our next door neighbours house getting broken into while he was sitting in the garden. Hot Fuzz? Aye right! I don't have any photos of their trip over apart from the first night when Algy and I were drinking champagne aperitifs. It certainly set the tone for the next few days!
