Upcycling Project

The mezzanine in the sleep out has really needed a table or drawers in it for some time. The Ikea table that had been up there is now a regular part of our living room furniture so it just all looked a bit bare, and there was nowhere to put the light. I knew that there was a set of drawers in the garage which I thought might fit the space so I decided to do some investigating. Turns out, they were a perfect fit, but after a winter in the not-wind-and-water-tight garage, they were in serious need of a clean up. I actually expected to end up having to paint them, but some good old soap and water, and a bit of elbow grease did the trick and then I was into some real diy stuff: drilling holes and adding handles. I'm pretty chuffed with the final result. Annoyingly though, I could only buy the handles in sets of four so I've emailed the company to see if they'll send me a single one. Here's hoping.
