Post swim bananas and capri suns.
However, on Thursday, the Tour de France rolled into town and, once again, we threw ourselves into it. In the morning, William and I headed into Place Verdun to see the finish line and just check the place out. It really is a circus. With fanatical followers. These guys had picked their spot already - at 11am and the riders weren't due through until about 5.30pm. They were going to stay here all day and it was going to be around 30degreees. Madness.
There was a really cute kids cycling track set up and William was easily the smallest kid I saw on it the whole time we were there. Brilliant.
In the late afternoon we walked up to Boulevard Tourasse (less than 10min walk from our house) to wait for the peloton to come through. I was hoping to get a decent view. I was so close, I was actually too close and got a bit of a fright as they came thundering past in a blur.
I was so close I was even on tv. Never again.
The week rounded up with another trip to Parc Animaler out past Lourdes, this time with my friend Astrid, her two boys and their mate. William is a cool as a cucumber in with the animals. His mum, less so.
Oh, and it's not a day out to the zoo until you get an ice-cream!
LM :)
