There's been a couple of quite cool events at at William's school recently. First, some sort of Spring Carnaval, in which the kids all got dressed up and ate afternoon tea together. It was a bit strange for William as he doesn't normally go to school in the afternoon, but we just rocked up for the family bit at 3.30 and him in pirate gear. (We were led to believe the in these things, anything goes). He wasn't really sure at first, but then got more into it and it was cool to see him running around with his wee french pals. He seems to be quite popular. Or maybe just a curiosity!
"Ah-harrrrgh!"
Being English speaking parents of a three year old at a French speaking school can be pretty challenging. We had an idea that some sort of art thing was going on, and that the kids work was being exhibited, and that Mme Hernandez was encouraging us to go along and have a look. But I had to rely on William remembering where he had been taken in the morning, and then follow him to this spot. As we navigated the streets around where we lived, and travelled further and further into the heart of the big housing projects, I wasn't so sure that I should be putting so much trust in a three year old. However, all my doubts fell away once we got into the parc in the middle of Saragosse, and there was kids artwork everywhere.
He was able to take me straight to his class' exhibit on Mondrian, and show me the piece which he'd made. I don't know who was prouder!
We're really happy with how he's getting on at Joyeaux Bearn. Hopefully we can find a new house in this area and he won't need to move.
Lorna :)
