Ronnie & Sheena *and* Natureo!

Ronnie and Sheena have just been here for a week and, as ever, it's been great! This time they flew into Paris then got the train down to Pau. I think they found it a lot more relaxing than their last venture here, and Sheena wasn't worried about having to drive anywhere so she could just focus on enjoying her time with us, i.e. William. ;-)

They got here last Monday evening and we walked down to the train station to meet them. It was a lovely way for them to arrive into Pau; via the funicular on a warm sunny evening. After a day of travelling, they were pretty tired and not too hungry so we just sat around the table, decompressing, having some bubbles, and various apèros. They're old hands at this so they were quickly settled into their new digs and we spent the week taking William to, and collecting him from school; eating good food at home and in many of the wee places Pau has to offer; and just relaxing. In keeping with tradition, they were also here for the delivery of a big Ikea purchase: our new couch! They took William out for a big wander and a ride on the Coxitis while Iain and I stayed at home and put the thing together. We're rather happy with it and it looks so much better than the couch we inherited from Hughes and Melanie.

To round off the week, we decided to take them away to Seignosse for a couple of nights at Natureo. It really is a brilliant spot and they loved the simplicity of it, the great food, the pool, and proximity to the beach. By far, my favourite memory of the weekend was sitting on the beach on the Saturday evening, having many an Aperol Spritz as we watched the sun set over the Atlantic. Definitely my happy place.

Happy days.

Lorna :)
