Legs & Marc

Ronnie & Sheena had only been away two days when our next guests arrived! I love when we get these wee flurries of visitors as it keeps me busy and I just love hosting people. (* Briefly considers running an AirBnB*)

Legs was adamant that they were pretty self sufficient in their travels so were happy to make their own way from Biarritz. Their train wasn't due to get in until about 6pm so it gave me the day to get their room ready; realise that I'd lost my wallet the previous day at Carrefour; contact Carrefour to see if it had been handed in; find out that yes, they did have it; and go back to Carrefour to collect it. I'm getting worse. Apparently someone had found it in the carpark. I was just so grateful that I didn't need to go through the rigmarole of trying to get a new Carte Vitale, especially whilst I'm still in the middle of this IVF round.

I'd made my signature pulled pork for them arriving and it went down a storm. It was so lovely to sit round the table with our good friend(s! - welcome to the madness, Marc), and catch up on life. This is exactly the reason we moved back to Europe - to have more of this kind of stuff in our lives again.

For the next four days, we moseyed around the streets of Pau, drinking good coffee, eating good food and just loving spending time together. Legs and Marc were both very surprised at the size of Pau and how much there was to do here in terms of eating and shopping. The proximity to Spain and the coast was also really appealing to them and by the time we'd spent the day Hendaye before dropping them at the airport on Sunday evening, they were talking all about hiring a camper van and travelling this whole region next summer. It's safe to say, they absolutely fell in love with the place and I can't wait to have them back over. But if they come back in the autumn, we can all watch Strictly together again!

Brilliant days.

Lorna :)
