Given everything that's been going on for me recently, I was really just looking forward to some indulgence on my birthday this year. I have to admit that with me not really drinking, or doing anything for that matter, the celebrations were rather subdued but we're playing the long game so one birthday can fly under the radar, even if it is a "big" one.
I must admit to feeling rather spoiled by all my nearest and dearest though with presents and flowers turning up at regular intervals for two whole days. I met Hayley for coffee and cake yesterday morning, and Iain and I had booked dinner at Gueuleton in Place Grammont. It was really great to get dolled up for the evening and spend some time together eating excellent food and having a couple of small glasses of wine. The food was really brilliant and they were able to ensure it was all sans gluten. A real delight.
