Amazingly, as I go to write this very retrospective post, I realise that I've taken lots of notes already when I was on the road. Hurrah!
Monday 26 July - Thursday 5 August
New travel rules meant PCR testing and forms for Africa in order to board planes and get into Scotland. It was a lot to get my head around but we queued at Zenith on the Saturday morning and had our (negative) results that night. The online forms were done, we had our plethora of QR codes at the ready and we were off. Only to fall at the first hurdle on Monday morning. The bloody train to Toulouse was running 90mins late so we needed to go home and take the car instead. Claire Whitelock, being the superstar that she is, came to Toulouse with us and brought our car back (as we didn't want to pay for parking at Toulouse for five weeks and we still had the return train tickets!) Just boarding the plane at Toulouse felt like an achievement in itself. And that was it. Scotland for five weeks (with a 10 day quarantine on arrival and two more tests).

A well deserved cider in the Glasgow sun:
Here's what we got up to during our quarantine:
Day 0; Monday 26 July:
Arrival. Heather dropped stuff off, Gregor picked us up. Alan dropped food off. We drank cider in the sun. Take away pizza for dinner. The simplicity of GF takeaways, eh?
Day1; Tuesday 27 July:
Heather collected William and took him to Gia’s. He was there most of the day. Did a Boots and Tesco online shop. Great weather, BBQ dinner - lamb kebabs.
Day 2; Wednesday 28 July:
Donnie swung past with Georgie. Took William over to Heather’s. He was there most of the day! We did our first PCR tests and walked up to Shawlands to drop them off. Alan came round with bikes for us. Another nice day and another BBQ dinner.
Donnie collected William and took him to the MacB’s for a play date. He was a bit nervous because Georgie’s friend was coming too. Tesco delivered our shopping.
Day 4; Friday 30 July:
Gregor came around in the morning with Ross. Ross, Vicki, Harris and Archie came round in the late afternoon and stayed for a couple of hours. We drunk tea in the garden, the kids all played and it was braw. I made mince and potatoes for dinner and it was perfect.
Day 5; Saturday 31 July:
The MacBrides all came round for a cup of tea just after lunch and they had a big play in the garden. It was great to just hang out and blether. Had a curry for dinner. It was amazing.
Day 6; Sunday 1 Aug:
Quiet day just at home all three of us. Starting to get a bit bored.

Day 7; Monday 2 Aug:
Ross, Harris and Archie came round with lunch for us. As they were leaving, Gregor turned up so they ended up staying longer. Good to have some company as the days get longer and more boring. Thank god for the Olympics.
Day 8; Tuesday 3 Aug:
PCR test day.
