So off Iain and I headed to Fife for a day of child-free celebrating and partying with old friends. I was so excited. The wedding ceremony and do were both at The Cow Shed, a really cool wedding venue in Crail. It really is a cow shed, and has been converted into a beautiful, rustic venue that these guys had done an awesome job decorating. This was the first Scottish wedding that Iain and I had been to since our own, almost five years ago, so it was wonderful to get fully kitted out in the wedding regalia; Iain in full highland and me with heels and hat!
The ceremony was really chilled. They'd gone for a humanist celebrant and he absolutely nailed the balance of humour and officialdom. I was very honoured to be asked to do a reading, and it was also special for Iain and me to be mentioned a few times during the ceremony as the celebrant told the story of Cat and Divsy's life thus far. Poor Isla wasn't enjoying the reminiscing though; she clung to Divsy for the vast majority of the ceremony!
Like I said before, they'd done an amazing job decorating the venue and they had the same band that we'd had. Combined with the free bar, we were ready to PARTY!
We felt that we really lucked out with our dinner dates. So great to see Legs for the first time since our wedding, meet Marc, and catch up with Jo, Hester and their partners. Small world that Jo's partner, Scott, was Specky's probationer. Madness!
Time to party!....
What an amazing day. Congratulations guys, we are absolutely stoked for you! Welcome to marriage-hood. When did we all get so grown up?
LM. :)
