Roger Waters: The Wall

Months and months ago, I managed to get tickets for the Roger Waters gig at the Vector Arena in Auckland. This was before we even knew we'd be moving to New Plymouth but fortunately the gig was on a Saturday night so I was still able to go and enjoy the live version of the soundtrack to my teenage years. Iain was somewhat opposed to paying money to watch "the guy who split up that band you like", so I went with our good mate Jabba - a real Floyd fan. It was amazing. As the gig progressed, a huge wall was built across the stage where they projected images from the film. The visual displays were incredible and, coupled with the live music, it was more like a theatrical performance rather than a rock concert. I'm no music journalist so I'll leave it with that and show you some photos, but if the show does come your way, I'd highly recommend going along and checking it out.
