Cathedral Cove

On Hahei Beach, just getting ready to head out
In true Kiwi style, we were all up for a bit of action on the road trip so we decided to hook ourselves up with a sea kayaking trip to Cathedral Cove. It was a brilliant tour, led by young Maori lad who was rather adept at the Maori storytelling malarkey. We were out at sea for about three hours, working our way around rocks and into caves all shapes and sizes with a rich history. It was a fantastic way to see this part of New Zealand and a great introduction to Maori culture for Cat and Divsy. We were all also particularly impressed with the fresh coffee the boy managed to conjure up when we landed at the Cove! Oh, NZ, you love your Flat Whites!
Here's some shots from the day. (Btw, if you think you recognise anything it might be because they filmed one of the Narnia movies on this beach!).
The Famous Cathedral Cove - you can walk through the archway to the next beach
(better photos to follow)
The Troops at Catherdral Cove - the rock in the background was once formed part of a cove like the one above.
