After much humming and hawing, my Mum finally decided to book flights to come and visit us. It was a tough gig talking her round but she bit the bullet and jumped on that flight (via Dubai!) to come and see us. We went to pick her up at the airport the day after Ronnie and Jabba's wedding so we were feeling a little worse for wear but I don't know if she noticed after sitting on a plane for twenty four mind numbing hours.
Anyway, my Mum's first few days here were pretty quiet; Iain and I were both at work all week but it allowed her to catch up on sleep and get to grips with her new surroundings down under. She did manage a little bit of walking though, conquering Mount Victoria along with Iain in our wee village of Devonport. Here's a shot of her from the top looking south back across Auckland.
