Today was run day and I decided we were doing at least 5k, and hopefully closer to 6. Our planned route took in Verdun, up Hédas to Bosquet, up towards Trespoey Ave then round the corner to head towards Beaumont. Through the park, onto the Boulevard, up to the chateau and home. I felt I was going well and knew I'd manage the distance but we bumped into Lee and the kids just before the park and, desperate for some human contact, we stopped to talk. We probably blethered for about 15mins so I was actually seizing up when resumed our run but it was worth it, just to get a chance to talk to someone! Lee's doing well, but in much the same frame of mind as us; desperately bored but equally as anxious about the impending deconfinement. Deffo looking forward to spending time with her once we get out. So, we finished our run. It was 5.75k with an ambiguous time of 54.40. Need to get out and try this route again to see what a proper time would be.
In the afternoon, I managed to get out for a wee wander round the town on my own. I needed to pick up a present for Iain's birthday on Monday, and I also wanted to get some nice steaks for the BBQ so we could have a nice meal and some celebratory drinks. I managed to get other essentials for Iain such as Haribos and chocolate so I reckon he'll be pleased. Town is definitely feeling a lot busier.
(This post is four days late; I don't really know where the time has gone but lockdown fatigue has definitely set in, and I'm struggling to keep up with my writing.)
Lorna. :)
