Today was glorious and we enjoyed a shorter than usual walk round the town in the beautiful sun. The council have even been out and cut some of the grass below the Boulevard so we stopped there for a while and let William run around mad on the big hills. Normally, it's home for lunch but we were a bit naughty and grabbed some food then sat on a bench at the chateau for what William had dubbed a "Canoravirus Picnic" [sic].
It was just wonderful to feel like we were doing something relatively normal again. Oh, how I'm looking forward to Monday. We actually received another email from the school this morning outlining how the return to class will be managed. The whole thing just sounds like a logistical nightmare and I'm glad we've decided to keep William at home for the meantime. I feel sorry for the teachers who have been put in this position when it seems like there's still quite an element of risk involved. I'm already eager to hear how things go on the first few days back.
The afternoon passed in a blur of facetious with Jinty, hand washing clothes, putting clothes away, sweeping and tidying up the garden, and then enjoying a BBQ for dinner. It's amazing how many times I've opened the fridge thinking that we've barely got any food and we end up eating a decent meal. Tonight we had steak haché and sausages or the barbie, then I managed to knock up a potato and egg salad, plus a regular greens/tomatoes/cucumber/avo/parmesan salad. Just what we needed after last night's ridiculous mince and tatties combo!
Right, I'm offski. I'm delighted to finally catch up on my writing. Time for a cuppa and some zone-out tv.
Lorna :-)
