We ended up going to bed late last night (celebrating doing a shop!) so it was a slower paced start to the day today. In the morning, we pottered around the house, eating food, watching fixing things videos on YouTube, doing laundry and Iain took all the recycling and bins out then went for a run. He said there were a few people around. We had quiche for lunch then Iain decided it would be a great idea for me to cut his hair! I think, given that my training involved watching and four and a half minute video on YouTube, I did a decent job:
(Before)
(After)
Maybe time to retrain?!
Not wanting to miss out, William requested to have his cut too:
This afternoon I hung some washing out, and Iain took William out for a walk. It's been his first steps outside since lockdown so he's done really well. Iain said there was a few people around again and has urged me to head out too. Maybe over the weekend.
This morning I read an article in the Guardian about Kiwis on lockdown taking on the #FormalFriday challenge spurred on by the much loved New Zealand tv host Hilary Barry. You can read about it by clicking here. I decided to make this part of our Cleland Family Friday-Night-Cocktail-Party and invited everyone else to do the same. What a laugh. Iain and I went full in; me in heels and carrying a handbag (for my lipstick ;-) ), and Iain in full Major James Hewitt garb:
I was absolutely howling when Iain put on that necktie! Great to see the family getting on board too. The party got quite raucous and we were still online to Gia and Donnie at about 10.30pm. Very much enjoying the party vibe (and the gin!), we ended up FaceTiming heaps of other folk: Susie & Nic, The Blazers, Dougie & Liz, and Jabba. I don't know if all the people we tried to call figured the time and thought it best to screen our calls...
Anyway, a great night was had by all despite this crazy world that we're currently living in.
Cheers,
Lorna
