It's the start of the week again. And we've done a whole week at home. Hurrah! I think?! My normal Monday usually involves doing The Big Shop at Auchan but I put it off and we decided that perhaps Iain should just grab some essentials at Monoprix. Cue another written attestation to let him out. His review of his trip out was that the streets were quiet, he needed to queue to get in the shop, it was reasonably well stocked but there were signs everywhere saying please don't bulk buy so he got the essentials and got home. It's good to have new things back in the fridge but we're now at the point of wondering if the things we're bringing into our house are safe? What if a contaminated person handled this? How long does the virus last on cardboard? On plastic wrap? Strange times.
In order to keep busy we did some jobs; I cleaned the bathroom and did some laundry, Iain did a workout, finished his book and sent some training plans to the players. Iain also made dinner. Duck stir fry.
In news from outside the bubble, Boris Johnson finally announced a lockdown of the UK. People have been acting like complete idiots, still going to the pub etc so hopefully this will really help "flatten the curve" as its become known, and in turn reduce the pressure on the NHS. My biggest worry at the moment is that the frontline medical staff don't have the necessary protective equipment to deal with patients so will, in turn, contract the virus too. Then who treats the sick? Things don't seem particularly positive in the USA either and the leader over there is also slow in making important decisions.
Talk to you tomorrow.
Lorna.
