CoronaVirus Lockdown Day 14 - Mon 30 March

Two weeks eh? Every morning we seem to be waking later and later, and every morning I vow that we're going to knock it on the head. Iain was up and away early doors this morning to oversee the dissemination of gym gear at the training centre. As such, it was much more of a familiar morning routine with just William and I. We got up around 9am, had breakfast then William asked if we could watch a making things movie. I said, yeah, when your dad gets home, at which point the penny dropped for William that Iain wasn't here! His realisation face was hilarious! We did some house chores like laundry, showers etc and by the time Iain got home at about 11.30am, William and I were in the kitchen making the dry rub for the ribs which I intended to slow cook all day. William even helped rub the meat before we got it in the oven.

Iain was happy with how the handover of gear went at the the training centre. They set up a system that meant Iain didn't actually have any contact with the players so he was pleased, and so was I. We had unusually cold weather so we put the fire on in the afternoon and eventually succumbed to the draw of the tv, all snuggling down to watch a movie. Paddington 2. And it's surprisingly hilarious. I was actually crying with laughter at Hugh Grant in the finale. Then it was time to get into the final stages of the ribs. William glazed them with BBQ sauce and we put them under the grill to caramelise. They. Were. Outstanding.
I'd love to say that the rest of the evening passed in a breeze of adult time, drinking tea, watching Race Across The World, and chilling out, but William decided that he just wasn't tired enough to go to sleep and we ended up with him back on the couch watching a Simon Reeve documentary and he didn't fall asleep (in our bed) until after 11pm. Brutal.
