Hello, old friend...

Where to begin?

I started this blog in 2009 when we thought it would be a good idea to head off to New Zealand and see what it was like living in another country. I'd taken a career break for 16 months and the loose plan was to be back in Scotland within a couple of years. Cue lots of blogging about the adventures we were having as we crammed everything in all over the North and South Islands. As life took over, and were weren't really tourists anymore but ex-pats making our way in our adopted homeland, the number of posts dwindled and eventually dried up. But today, I'm back blogging. Why? Well, as Sherlock would say, the Game Is On.

You see, I'm writing this post from a French hotel room. After eight years in NZ where we'd become Permanent Residents, owned two cars, bikes, all sorts of sports gear, a houseful of furniture and had the greatest addition to our home; a wee boy called William, born in 2015, (Kiwi by birth, Scottish by descent), we are back on the road.

How so, you ask? Well let me tell you...
