We were incredibly grateful to Ronnie and Sheena for exclusive access to their house on Arran for a whole week. Sheena even lent us her 4x4 so we could get up the access road without any problems.
Arran, is a beautiful island, but it can be pretty bleak when the rain and midges descend. Fortunately, for us, this wasn't the case while we were there. We basked in the hot summer sun and cooled our feet off in streams after morning walks in the hills. We revelled in watching William run around in the outdoors and imagined how he'd grow to love it all as he gets older.
I'll let the photos speak for themselves. Highlights of the week were trekking up the glen facing the house (and paddling in streams), and my solo quest to the top of the Ben behind the house. Absolutely stunning.
We're very lucky to get to do this.
LM.
