Notes from the Road (20) - Hello, Goodbye

Like ships in the night, us and the Laidlaws! Karen and I tried to arrange a rendez-vous last summer when I was in the UK and they were in London, but it was not to be. This year, with Clark taking the NZ7s job and them moving back to Aotearoa, our window of opportunity suddenly got very small! So small in fact, that Iain, William and I drove through to Edinburgh the night before they were due to leave for NZ, to grab a quick coffee and a playdate with the two new little people in our families. It was absolutely wonderful to see them before they set off. It's over two years since we last saw them but it feels like no time has passed at all. I'm sure, (I hope), that one day we'll all be living in the same town again. Until then, safe travels Team Laidlaw. X
