Sometimes getting William out of his jammies in the morning can be a bit of a battle. This becomes especially tricky if gets himself into the Lego Zone. You know, that place that four year olds go when all they can do is build and build and build? Yeah, there. Today, before he got into The Zone, I told him that if he could get up the stairs and get ready on his own, then there just might be a present for him. He's been so good at just being at home and enduring these long days of playing in the courtyard or the house, that we felt it was time to get him some new playthings so I had a good rummage around in the leftovers at Leclerc on Friday and came up with some classic Lego to add to all the scene sets that he already has. As you would imagine, it went down an absolute treat. He's such a lovely wee boy that he jumped up and gave me a big hug and said thanks without any prompting. My heart was melting.
The weather was beautiful all day on Saturday which brought feelings of joy, at being out; and bitterness that Susie, Nic and Livia weren't here to enjoy it and see Pau in it's springtime glory. Ahh well, hopefully we can all reschedule for another time.
William and I spent most of the afternoon outside playing trains. Today's build was more complicated than the other day and even Iain remarked that I'm pretty decent at putting these things together. In other news, I have stupidly downloaded Candy Crush again and I'm already feeling like I'm getting sucked in. Need to delete it - such a waste of time.
Before we knew it, it was late afternoon and perfect for a cheeky cider in the sun. Iain had marinaded chicken wings so got them on the BBQ, and he'd made burgers too. A good Saturday night tea. Then we rounded it all off with some more drinks, a fire in the garden and a good old FaceTime with Susie, Nic and Livia to commiserate them not coming to visit. Susie and Nic even hit us up with some quiz questions. They're pure idiots. This is Nic acting out tv shows:
Mental.
Lorna. :)
