CoronaVirus Lockdown Day 40 - Sat 25 April

The forecast for the morning was good so I started off with stripping the beds. As always, a good feeling to embrace a "rare day fur a washin'". We headed out for our walk and let William take the lead. We ended up wandering round the Place Verdun which was a welcome change from the regular loops round the old town. It was a beautiful day and lovely to get some more kms on the clock. I even did some pre-hab for my back before going out and it was definitely feeling a bit better.
The afternoon was a bit of a hanging about kinda day. I spoke to Alan on FaceTime for a while, Iain and William played a lot of football in the courtyard, I did more washing; we hummed and hawed over what we should make for dinner; Iain pulled some mint in the garden and used it to make mojito apéros.
Although there was quite a bit of thunder in the late afternoon, we settled on another BBQ for dinner, but with a load of potatoes in the cupboard needing used up, Iain suggested I have a go at make wedges as a side. They were easy to do (part boil for 7mins, roast in oil, garlic and rosemary for 30mins) and the were the perfect accompaniment to the chicken. My garlic and chive dip also made another appearance.
William and I had a bath with way too many bubbles and after he went to bed, I went downstairs to find Iain still out in the garage, listening to the heavy rain, and enjoying a dram in front of the fire. A great way to end a very relaxing day. Slàinte.

Lorna :-)
