We started the morning with lots of activity. Iain did his zoom circuits with the Section players and William and I got ourselves out for a big walk round the centre ville, taking more usual streets and thus seeing bits of the city and routes that are unfamiliar to us. We went past Les Halles, which was open for both the main stalls and also for the farmer's market. We also passed by the antique shop across from the courthouse and William was taken with the ship in the window. Oddly, it was a model of the HMS Victory, and I had a difficult time trying to explain to William that I had actually been on this ship in real life. We were out for our allocated 1hour exercise and we managed 5km in this time. The streets are definitely a lot busier. But maybe that's down to the weather. It feels like this is the first dry day that I've been outside.
As a reward for our big walk, I made sweetcorn fritters for lunch. Today's batch were particularly delicious and I made sure I got loads of photos of them shared on my socials. I've gained a bit of traction on them, so will need to follow up with the recipe and get more traffic on the food blog.
After lunch, I caught up with Popmaster and got into my usual chores. Iain had french homework to do, followed by a lesson so he was busy down in the office for a good part of the afternoon. William and I went to his room for a snuggle, some afternoon reading time and playing the baddie / hiding game. He loves it!
Dinner was quite an event today. As the weather was nice we felt we should try and embrace the healthiness of the BBQ, and I really wanted to make falafels so we decided to pair them up with honey chilli bbq chicken, and salad. I also made a garlic and chive dip to round it all off. It was amazing.
Yet more excellent content for the food blog. I just need to find the time to write about it now!
Lorna. :-)
