CoronaVirus Lockdown Day 34 - Sun 19 April

Morning - Up, breakfast and usual chores. Had showers etc and headed out for a cobwebber walk round the deserted streets of Pau. We didn't really see many people on our travels, and some of the ones we did see, we kept bumping back into as they were clearly doing a similar loop to us. We stopped by Andy and Sophie's place and they hung out their window to talk to us. It was good to just chat to people. The strange times in which we are living eh? We headed down past the government buildings and past the Gare, and then up the climb below the Boulevard. I thought we would probably just head home from the top of the hill but Iain suggested we head north past Bosquet and then William wanted to go along Hédas so that's the way we went. By the time we got home, we'd covered almost 4.5km. A decent wee loop to get out into civilisation again, and get William active.

The afternoon forecast was pretty rubbish so we decided that we'd all earned an afternoon on the couch, watching a movie. Iain and I are sick of watching cartoons so, after a bit of research, we opted for Hook which I'd never seen before. It was good, but I wouldn't rush back for a second viewing.

I made dinner tonight: Pad Thai. It was good but lacked two essential ingredients of fresh coriander, and fresh lime. Damn you lockdown! Then it was time for the weekend highlight: The Cleland Family Pub Quiz. Hosted tonight by Ronnie and Iain. A good solid set of questions tonight but we came in 4th out of 5. We really need to try harder next week! I will say that the highlight of tonight's quiz was definitely Iain's Play Your Cards Right round. You'd have thought that Sheena was genuinely playing for a speedboat or similar - she was that invested in her higher or lower decisions. Hilarious!

Iain and I tried to watch Rocky II but the box was playing up and I was gutted. Who'd have thought I'd become so invested in this franchise?!

Lorna.  :-)
